Privacy policy
We built enlarge.photos so that most photos never reach us at all. This page explains what we collect when they do, why, and for how long.
Last updated October 9, 2026
The short version
- Free never uploads your photo. It is enlarged on your device, in your browser or in our CLI.
- Pro sends your photo to our processor, fal, which runs Topaz. We delete our copy of the photo when the job finishes and the result after 24 hours.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or tracking scripts.
- An account holds only your email address, your credits and your job history.
Free engine
The Free engine runs the AI model on your own device: in your browser on the website, and on your computer in the enlarge CLI and its MCP server. Your photo and the enlarged result are never sent to us or to anyone else. Your browser downloads the model from our server once and keeps it in its cache. You do not need an account.
Pro engine
When you run a Pro enlargement, from the website, the CLI, the MCP server or the API, we receive your photo and the settings you chose. We remove all metadata (including location) from the result.
- We send your photo to our processor, fal (fal.ai), which runs Topaz LabsGigapixel models. It is uploaded to fal's storage with the shortest expiration fal supports.
- We delete our copy of your photo when the job finishes, whether it succeeds or fails.
- We delete the enlarged result 24 hours after the job finishes. Download it before then.
- We delete our copies; our processor retains uploads per its own policy. See fal's privacy policy at fal.ai/privacy.
- We keep a record of each job (file name, dimensions, settings, credits and status) in your account history so you can see what you spent. It never contains the image.
Your account
Pro needs an account. You sign in with a link we email you, so we store your email address and a session cookie, but no password. We send that email through our email provider. We also store:
- Your credit balance and the history of purchases, jobs and refunds behind it.
- Your API keys, up to 10. We keep only a fingerprint (a hash) of each key, its name, its first few characters and when it was last used. We cannot show you a key again after you create it.
Our servers keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, to keep the service running and to limit abuse.
Payments
Credit packs are paid through StripeCheckout. You enter your card details on Stripe's page, never ours, and we never see your full card number. Stripe tells us the pack, the amount, your email and its own payment references, which we keep for our accounting. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
Who processes data
We share data only with the services that run enlarge.photos, and only what each needs:
| Service | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| fal | Running Pro enlargements | Your photo and its settings |
| Topaz Labs | The Pro models, run by fal | Your photo, through fal |
| Stripe | Payments and receipts | Your email and payment details |
| Our email provider | Sending sign-in links | Your email address |
| Our hosting provider | Running our servers | Everything above, stored on our servers |
Cookies and storage
- One cookie keeps you signed in. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.
- Your browser stores your light or dark theme, the Free model files, and, while you sign in or check out, the photo you were about to enlarge so it is still there when you come back. All of this stays on your device.
Your choices
- Use Free and we never receive your photos or any account data.
- Download Pro results and they leave our servers within 24 hours anyway.
- Delete your account at any time on your account page. That removes your email, sessions, API keys, job history and credit history at once. We keep purchase records without your account attached, because the law requires us to keep accounting records. Unused credits are lost when you delete your account.
- To ask what we hold about you, or for a copy or a correction, email [email protected]. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your photos to train AI models.
enlarge.photos is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
